Charis has a vast professional experience in the financial services industry (banking and capital markets) and an in-depth knowledge of financial products. Currently he is an Executive Director and Portfolio Manager at The Active Banking Fund AIFLNP V.C.I.C. Ltd, which has been licensed and is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. This fund invests in big capitalization bank stocks in North America and Western Europe. Prior to his current role, Charis worked for 6 years at Citigroup in London and New York as a Vice President in the internal mergers & acquisitions team for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. He has also worked at Deutsche Bank, The World Bank, Bank of Cyprus (London) and the Cyprus Development Bank (cdbbank). In his various positions he had an active role in formulating bank business strategy, risk management, the development of structured products and the use of derivatives.
Education: B.A. (Hons) degree in Economics from Cambridge University, an M.Phil. postgraduate degree in Economics from Oxford University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from London Business School with distinction, with specialisation in Finance. He is also a CYSEC authorised investment professional (CYSEC advanced certification).
